Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge making extra effort to reach out to veterans suffering from substance abuse

Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge is making the extra effort to reach out to veterans right now.

Organizers of the substance abuse treatment program say people are particularly vulnerable as the COVID-19 pandemic adds extra stress and limits access to help.

"We have been putting out all kinds of marketing to reach veterans and to know they have a place that they can go," Dr. Tim Walsh, vice president of Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge, said.

Dr. Walsh emphasized the importance of long-term treatment.
