When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. That’s what one little girl with a big heart has chosen to do.

After spending time in the hospital, Ohio fifth grader Payton Obert decided she wanted to do something to help other kids facing medical or personal challenges.

In summer 2018, she opened a lemonade stand in her driveway as a fundraiser, and the idea has since become an annual tradition.

Payton’s Lemonade Stand has now grown into a national nonprofit. Last weekend, 50 lemonade stands in three states raised $85,000.
