Snow chances increase as early week system trends north – Chris
Happy Sunday! We’re done with the weekend light snow, and clouds will persist with temperatures staying steady into the 20s.
The system for early next week has trended north and west. This increases the potential for light snow across much of Minnesota. As of now, I’m thinking 1-2 inches for the metro, with 2-5 inches of snow across southern and western Minnesota, though the forecast guidance is trending higher. Either way, there could be impacts to the Tuesday morning commute.
More snow is possible Wednesday evening. This could bring another few inches of snow.
The bitter cold on tap late next week still looks to pack a punch. Temps will be well below normal with highs in the single digits and teens, and lows below zero. There will also be light snow chances that continue to move through the Upper Midwest.
Finally, Winter has arrived!
