NASCAR legend and hall of famer “The King” Richard Petty spoke with the media Friday morning at MSRA’s Back to the 50’s event about mentoring students at Minneapolis North and Lakeville North High Schools as part of their automotive and metal works programs.

The students will take part in a “rat rods” build-off next school year and Petty and Billy Lane will mentor them throughout the process as both school compete.

The event and program were in part sponsored by Northern Tool & Equipment.
