Gophers head coach P.J. Fleck said it’s too early to tell if senior quarterback Tanner Morgan will play Saturday night when the Gophers visit 16th ranked Penn State.
Morgan was injured in the Gophers’ loss to Illinois on Saturday when he took a shot to the head on a scramble. He was checked out at a hospital and was able to fly back with the team. Fleck said Morgan was feeling better on Sunday.
“I know he’ll be at practice for sure. And again, my policy especially with quarterbacks or somebody who’s played a ton of football, is you don’t have to practice throughout the week until you get to the end of the week. And then you have to be able to show that you have you can do something,” Fleck said on Monday.
Morgan has thrown seven touchdown passes and five interceptions for the Gophers this season.
The Gophers-Penn State game will air at 6:30 p.m. Saturday night on KSTP.
