Storms are ending, turning cooler Thursday

The severe weather threat is over across Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. There were several hail reports, including some 2.5″ hail reports around Rice Lake. In the Twin Cities metro, 60-65 mph gusts were measured in the northwest metro, with some 50-60 mph gusts in the north metro.
For the rest of the night, there could be a few showers and a quick rumble of thunder early. Later on, spotty showers are possible up north and in northwest Wisconsin. North winds pick up heading into Thursday, dropping temperatures into the upper 70s and low 80s.
Plan on a stretch of prolonged heat Sunday throughout all of next workweek with temperatures in the 90s.
