Multiple ramp closures begin around metro area until summer, fall

As the 2020 Construction Season rolls on, multiple ramps will begin closing this week around the metro.

In Burnsville, the ramps along I-35W southbound at Black Dog Road will begin closing at 7 p.m. Monday. The work is part of the larger I-35W Minnesota River Bridge Replacement Project. The detour takes motorists to either Highway 13 or 98th Street through the summer months.

Starting Monday morning, all ramps at I-94 and Dale Street in St. Paul will close through late fall. The ramps will begin closing at 6 a.m. and drivers will be detoured to Lexington Parkway. The work is part of a larger project to reconstruct Dale Street. Learn more.

UPDATED: A major project along Highway 5 near the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport has been temporarily postponed. MnDOT announced Monday that a series of overnight ramp closures scheduled for this week at the Terminal 1 ramp and Highway 5 westbound have been cancelled. In April, a segment of Highway 5 will close for a number of weeks. MnDOT says they are waiting for asphalt plants to open before they start work on Highway 5.

In Brooklyn Park, the intersection of County Road 81 and Brooklyn Boulevard is closed for reconstruction. The immediate area is closed off and drivers are encouraged to use the following detours: I-694 and Highway 169 or West Broadway Avenue and 85th Avenue.
