Alcohol suspected to have played role in crash that killed boy, injured 2 in Brooklyn Center
A boy was killed and two people were injured in a crash in Brooklyn Center on Sunday.
According to Brooklyn Center Police, officers were called to a reported rollover accident on the 5900 block of Brooklyn Boulevard just before 1:30 a.m. There, officers found a badly damaged car on its side in a parking lot with a juvenile male victim partially ejected from the back passenger window.
Police said the boy had obvious head trauma and didn’t appear to be breathing. As officers tried to free him, the vehicle nearly rolled on them. Paramedics later arrived and determined the boy was dead.
Officers later found two adults with significant injuries and believe they were in the vehicle when it crashed.
While the investigation is still ongoing, police believe alcohol played a role in the crash. No other suspects are being sought.
