Minnesota Live producer Lauren Andrego is here for “What’s Appening” and it turns out that many of us are likely not cleaning our phone as often as we should, according to the FCC.
How often should you clean your phone?
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has a consumer guide about how to clean your phone. Since the pandemic started, they recommend cleaning your phone once a day as a preventative measure
All you need is a dry microfiber cloth or disinfectant wipe. Using other methods like paper towels, rubbing alcohol and makeup remover can actually damage your phone!
Cleaning out your phone’s storage
iPhone users can easily check which apps are taking up the most space
Go into your settings > then General > then iPhone storage
Android phones have a very similar function and route to get there
You’ll see how much storage each app is using, PLUS the last time you used that app
- Photos and videos are most commonly what takes up the most space
