Boho Style is a hot trend in home décor. Danielle Rode, owner of Upsy-Daisy in White Bear Lake, shows us ways to integrate boho-style into your fall decorating.

Upsy Daisy is hosting an outdoor pop up market on Saturday, September 10th. There will be 30 local artists, live music, and food trucks – and it’s free to attend!

Projects:

Boho Wall Hanging

Material:

  • Chunky Yarn (we chose 2 colors)
  • Wood Dowel
  • Wood beads
  • Scissors
  • Tape

Instructions:

  • Cut all yarn pieces in the same length (we cut ours 60″ each)
  • Tie each piece of yarn to the dowel using a lark’s head knot as follows:
    • Fold your piece of yarn in half.
    • Place the loop created under the dowel.
    • Fish the ends of the yarn through the loop.
    • Pull tight.
  • Alternate each color as you continue to tie each piece of yarn to the dowel.
  • Use tape to tightly tape the ends of the yarn (like the tip of a shoelace) and thread the yarn ends through the wood beads.
  • Slide the wood beads in a pattern you like.

Boho Fall Florals

Materials:

  • Dried Palm Leaves
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Small paint brush
  • Parchment paper

Instructions:

  • In a bowl, mix equal parts water and acrylic paint.
  • Use a paint brush to paint the palm leaf with the paint and water mixture (both sides).
  • Set on parchment paper to dry.
  • Use your painted palm leaf along with other dried florals as a fall floral arrangement.

Boho Plate Chargers

Materials:

  • 12” Cardboard Cake Plates
  • Fringed Trim (we used a looped trim we found at the fabric store)
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Sisal Rope
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  • Use the glue gun to adhere the fringed trim around the circumference of the cake plate. (will use approx. 36 inches of fringe).
  • Locate the center of the cake plate.
  • Start (hot) gluing the sisal rope at the center and continue around and around until reaching the fringe trim.
  • Cut the end of the sisal rope and glue the end down.
