After losing three of four games to start the season, the Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls basketball team has been on fire. 16-5 overall, they look poised to make a run in the section playoffs and make the 3A state tournament.

6-foot-1 sophomore Olivia Olson leads the Red Knights, and good news: After being sidelined with an ankle injury for two weeks, she will be back Friday night for their game against defending 4A champion Chaska.

We stopped by a recent Benilde-St. Margaret’s practice and spoke with Olson and coach Mike Swann.

Among the country’s 2024 Class, Olson is ranked No. 3 by ESPN. She has over 40 college offers, and recently had legendary UCONN coach Geno Auriemma in the gym watching.
