If art is in the eye of the beholder, one statue in downtown St. Paul is a sight to see.
Inside the St. Paul City Hall/Ramsey County Courthouse is the largest carved onyx figure in the world.
"I’m sure there are many people who have no idea that’s it even here," Nancy Wellington, with Ramsey County Historical Society, said.
The Vision of Peace is a 60-ton, 36-foot high statue that depicts five Native Americans sitting around a fire smoking their pipes of peace.
"I hope when people come into this building they realize that this is welcome to all," Wellington said.
Dedicated in 1936 to the war veterans of Ramsey County, it is a tribute to everlasting peace. The statue rotates on a motorized turntable.
