Several businesses closed, services halted amid ongoing protests
Several businesses and services throughout the metro area have closed amid ongoing protests related to George Floyd’s death.
Below is a list of disruptions 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has confirmed:
- Mall of America closed at 2 p.m. Thursday for an undetermined amount of time.
- USPS has temporarily suspended delivery service through three Minneapolis locations and some St. Paul locations.
- Metro Transit suspended bus and light rail service beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday until further notice.
- Children’s Minnesota’s Minneapolis campus has increased security but roads in the area may be closed at times.
- Rosedale Center closed Thursday afternoon per the request of local authorities and will remain closed Friday and Saturday. It will post when it reopens on social media.
- The Allina Health clinic near the Minneapolis Police Third Precinct is closed Thursday. Customers are being contacted to reschedule.
- Midtown Global Market is closed Thursday to repair damage from overnight protests.
- The Town Square DVS location in St. Paul closed Thursday afternoon for the remainder of the day.
- Target has closed stores at the following locations: North St. Paul, West St. Paul, East St. Paul, St. Paul Highland Park, St. Paul Midway, Minneapolis Northeast, Minneapolis Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis Lake Street, Minneapolis Dinkytown, Minneapolis Uptown, Oakdale, Roseville, Brooklyn Park, Knollwood, St. Louis Park, Crystal, Eden Prairie, Shoreview, Fridley, Richfield, Burnsville, Bloomington, Apple Valley and Apple Valley South.
