Public cries for accountability and justice continued in the streets of Minneapolis on Saturday.
During the day, a group of peaceful protesters gathered at the plaza outside the Hennepin County Government Center downtown before marching to the Minneapolis Police Department’s 1st Precinct. According to organizers Black Lives Matter Minnesota, the march was in solidarity with those demanding justice for victims of police brutality around the world.
Later in the afternoon, another group of protesters gathered outside U.S. Bank Stadium and marched across the Mississippi River to northeast Minneapolis. The march ended in a celebration at St. Anthony Main Park to "light the city up for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and all the others," according to the 10K Foundation, which organized the event.
