Former Minneapolis police officer Tou Thao released from custody

Tou Thao, one of the former Minneapolis police officers involved in George Floyd’s death, has been released from jail, according to the Hennepin County Jail roster.

Thao was released Saturday morning on conditional bond, according to jail records. His bail was set at $1 million without conditions and $750,000 with conditions.

Thao and former police officers Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng were all charged with unintentional aiding and abetting second-degree murder as well as aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter. Former police officer Derek Chauvin, who knelt on Floyd’s neck, was charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

Lane and Kueng have both been released from jail; Chauvin is being held at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Oak Park Heights.
