Sunday, hundreds of people are expected to gather at Powderhorn Park to hear from Minneapolis City Council and community members.

Leaders with the Reclaim the Block organization and Black Visions Collective will be in attendance, as will more than half of the city council, including President Lisa Bender and Vice President Andrea Jenkins.

In addition to discussing transforming public safety measures, organizers stated the event is being held to "ground community in the history of policing, the movement to end policing, and create space for community members to vision together about where we go from here."

The event begins at 3 p.m. Those attending are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
