Mayor of North St. Paul won’t seek reelection
Residents in North St. Paul will have a new mayor following the next election.
Current mayor Terry Furlong announced Wednesday he won’t be running for reelection after having been in the position since 2018. Previously, Furlong served on the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission, on the Economic Development Authority and as a City Councilor.
In addition to the mayoral seat, voters will also need to select two city councilors. Anyone interested in running is able to file paperwork from August 2 through August 18.
“It has been an honor to serve the people of North St. Paul,” said Furlong in a statement. “I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished and I’m committed to completing our current projects so the City will be ready for new mayoral leadership in 2023.”
