Klobuchar raises $2 million in wake of New Hampshire debate
Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s campaign is claiming a big fundraising boost after Friday night’s debate.
Klobuchar’s campaign says they’ve raised more than $2 million in less than 24 hours following her performance in New Hampshire.
It was her best fundraising haul following any Democratic debate so far, according to Minnesota senator’s campaign.
"With proven grassroots support, Amy continues to outperform expectations and punch above her weight,” campaign manager Justin Buoen said in a statement. “Following her debate performance, we’ve raised $2 million and have seen an outpouring of donations from all 50 states which will allow us to compete in New Hampshire and beyond.”
The question remains: Will it be enough to get her to Super Tuesday?
As of a month ago, Klobuchar had raised $29 million and had $5 million left in the bank. That’s compared to fundraising front-runner Sen. Bernie Sanders, who raised more than $100 million and still had $18 million left over.
The next big test comes on Tuesday, when New Hampshire holds its primary. Minnesota’s primary is March 3, part of Super Tuesday.
