2nd Congressional District candidate Tyler Kistner pledges to intervene in lawsuit attempting to enforce November election

Republican candidate for Minnesota’s second congressional district Tyler Kistner announced that he plans to intervene in Rep. Angie Craig’s lawsuit that attempts to enforce a Nov. election date.

Craig announced the lawsuit earlier in the week after it was announced that the election would be postponed until February due to the death of the Legal Marijuana Now party candidate Adam Weeks.

The lawsuit aims to enforce a November election date.

Kistner said in a statement:

"My campaign will be intervening in the Craig campaign’s lawsuit to ensure the bipartisan law is upheld and that the election proceeds in February, giving a voice to every Second District voter."

In support of her lawsuit, Craig said:

“This would leave Minnesota’s Second Congressional District without representation next year, we looked at federal law — we don’t believe the Secretary of State has the authority to alter the timing of the election," she said. "My message is still vote, vote for choice in this race, and we’ll see what happens next."
