On the one-year anniversary of George Floyd’s death, local activists called for more police accountability, the Floyd family met with President Joe Biden — and the Minnesota Senate Majority Leader called for more police on the streets of Minneapolis.

This week on “At Issue,” our analysts take a deeper look at the budget negotiations happening at the State Capitol and how police reform and the Governor’s emergency powers are part of the debate. Meanwhile, Gov. Tim Walz announced incentives for Minnesotans who haven’t yet been vaccinated.

A Republican hoping to unseat Walz – former state Sen. Scott Jensen – joined a lawsuit against the Biden administration, saying doctors shouldn’t be required to recommend the COVID-19 vaccine to children.

Plus, we sit down with an executive from Enbridge and an activist working to stop the Line 3 pipeline replacement project. They explain their side, as work is expected to pick up in the coming week – and be met with protests.
