With the state budgeting process officially done, Gov. Tim Walz sits down for a one-on-one interview this week on "At Issue." The governor, who said he was happy with the outcome of the budget, will now face a Republican majority in the Senate that could possibly remove another commissioner from the administration.
Republicans kept the Senate in a special session and will hold confirmation hearings beginning Tuesday. Republicans have previously removed to other commissioners from their posts, and sources tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that Laura Bishop, commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is the most in danger of losing her job.
This week we look at some of the highlights coming out of the state budget deal, including child care business assistance, federal loan tax relief and civil forfeiture reforms.
