This week on "At Issue with Tom Hauser," we recap a chaotic week in politics. The results are finally in for the Iowa caucuses, but there is still no clear winner.
The Chairman of the Democratic National Committee is calling for a recanvass of the results. Pete Buttigieg leads by a tenth of a point over Bernie Sanders after days of issues in tallying the votes. Amy Klobuchar rounds out the top five but says she has exceeded expectations. We also look ahead to Tuesday’s primary in New Hampshire.
We also discuss the acquittal of President Donald Trump in the Senate impeachment trial and the strong divide among the political parties. The tension was put on display during the State of the Union when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripped apart her copy of the speech immediately after the president finished delivering the address.
Meanwhile in Minnesota, we preview the upcoming legislative session and how lawmakers are divided on how to pay for new initiatives even with a budget surplus.
