Suspect in custody following fatal shooting in Shakopee
Police say a suspect is in custody following a fatal shooting in Shakopee.
According to the Shakopee Police Department, officers responded just before 7:30 p.m. to the report of a shooting in the 2400 block of Paha Circle.
According to police, a 65-year-old man with gunshot wounds was found inside a residence in the area. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police took a 23-year-old male suspect into custody at the scene. Police said the man is being held in Scott County Jail, pending charges.
Police stated they do not believe the victim and suspect knew each other. There is no threat to the general public, police said.
