Police investigating death in Lakeville

Police in Lakeville said Friday they are investigating a death at a residence.
According to the Lakeville Police Department, the death happened in the 17700 block of Glasgow Way.
Police said officers were called to a home there for a medical emergency at about 12:05 p.m. When they arrived, they found a person dead.
Lakeville Police officers and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are expected to be at the scene for up to 12 hours, and roads near the home will remain blocked until the investigation is complete.
Police said a firearm was located near the person's body. The victim was a contractor hired to paint and work on the property, and was found when a real estate agent visited the home.
Police said there's no known threat to community safety, they are not looking for suspects and the investigation is confined to the one home.
Roads surrounding the home will be open by 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
More information is expected to be released at a later time.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
