MDH: 1,809 total COVID-19 cases, 87 deaths

On Wednesday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported 114 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the state's total to 1,809.

Eight more deaths were reported on Wednesday as well; so far 87 Minnesotans have died from the virus.

The MDH stated that state laboratories have completed 9,608 tests and private laboratories have completed 30,634 tests, for a total of 40,242.

Of the cases in Minnesota, 445 have required hospitalization. On Wednesday, there were 197 patients in the hospital and 93 in intensive care.

According to the MDH, 940 patients have recovered and no longer need isolation, an increase of 31 from Tuesday.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected about 2,000,984 people worldwide and killed 128,071.

About 501,206 people have recovered from the virus.
