Law enforcement seeking public’s help in locating man, stolen truck involved in fatal Brooklyn Center crash

Law enforcement is seeking the public’s help in identifying a person related to a fatal crash on Tuesday in Brooklyn Center.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said Wednesday that they are aiming to talk to the man depicted below:

Judd Roger Anderson, 75, was identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office Thursday as the person killed when his vehicle was hit by a piece of chain-link fence dragged by a stolen truck on Highway 252 near 66th Avenue in Brooklyn Center Tuesday, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Anderson lost control of his vehicle after it was struck by the fencing and crashed into a light pole. He died at the scene.

The driver of the stolen truck — a blue 2007 Ford F250, with a plate bearing MJW169 — is not in custody. It was last seen exiting Highway 100 at France Avenue, authorities said.

Anyone who can identify the man or knows the whereabouts of the stolen truck is implored to contact the BCA by calling their tipline at 877-996-6222.

According to Brooklyn Park police, officers responded to an area near Highway 610 and Zane Avenue around 10 a.m. when a person saw their construction trailer being pulled by the stolen truck. Officers later found the truck and trailer in a Hy-Vee parking lot on Zane, but when they tried to stop the vehicle, it fled.

Due to safety concerns, law enforcement didn’t initiate a pursuit.

The driver maneuvered through grass, into a ditch and through a chain-link fence before driving onto Highway 610. The 200 feet of fencing became entangled with the truck and dragged behind as the truck escaped onto Highway 252, police said, and a pursuit began. Soon after, the dragging fence struck Anderson’s vehicle, causing the fatal crash.

The medical examiner ruled that Anderson died of multiple blunt force injuries Thursday, but the manner of death is under investigation.

This incident is being investigated the Minnesota State Patrol and BCA.
