Big Lake man charged with murdering his mother

A Big Lake man has been charged with murder in the death of his mother.
Eric Leif Jordahl, 20, is charged with two counts of second-degree murder.
According to a criminal complaint, Sherburne County deputies were called Thursday to a home on the 1800 block of Golf Street at 9:04 a.m. after a man came home from work and was met by his son, who said he’d killed his mother. Jordahl was identified as his son.
Victim in Big Lake homicide identified, suspect to appear in court on Monday
When officers arrived at the home, they found Jordahl covered in blood, and also found a butcher knife and what appeared to be human tissue in the kitchen, the complaint states.
In a basement bedroom, authorities found the body of 62-year-old Rosalie Ellen Johnson. The complaint states Johnson had obvious facial trauma and was already dead.
Authorities investigating homicide in Big Lake, 1 arrested
According to the complaint, Jordahl told investigators that he’d gone into his mother’s bedroom during the night and she’d told him to go back to sleep. He then said he punched her repeatedly before going upstairs, grabbing the knife and stabbing her multiple times.
Jordahl has no bail set after he appeared in court regarding the matter Monday morning.
