Authorities investigating after snowmobile drives into fish house, injures woman on Lake Minnetonka

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident where a woman was injured after a snowmobile drove through an ice fishing house on Lake Minnetonka Friday.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, at about 6 p.m. Friday, the Hennepin County Water Patrol and Wayzata police were dispatched to a crash involving a snowmobile and a fish house on Wayzata Bay of Lake Minnetonka.

An investigation learned that a 25-year-old woman was sitting in the fish house when a snowmobile went through the fish house and clipped her. The driver of the snowmobile did not stop and left the scene prior to the arrival of first responders.

Because of darkness, no description of the driver or the snowmobile was obtained.

The woman was taken to the hospital for a possible broken or sprained ankle.
