St. Paul Police Department responded to a shooting death late Friday night.
According to police, they received a bunch of phone calls for help that led officers to the scene of a shooting death at around 11:15 p.m. on the 1600 block of Jackson Street.
The first officers who arrived at the scene found a male victim lying outside a multi-family residence. According to police, he appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers acted quickly and rendered aid until medics arrived.
Unfortunately, the victim died a short time later without being transported to the hospital.
Police stated that a large crowd began to gather while officers were securing the scene. Therefore, St. Paul Police Department’s Homicide Unit immediately started to initiate their investigation. They began looking for anyone who might be able to tell them what the victim was doing in the area and who else was there.
Members of the department’s Forensic Services Unit were also able to begin processing the scene for evidence.
As of Saturday morning, no arrests have been made, and anyone with information is asked to call 651-266-5650.
