A man died and two other victims were injured after a stabbing in downtown Hudson, Wisconsin, early Sunday morning.

According to the Hudson Police Department, at 1:05 a.m., the police responded to a stabbing incident in downtown Hudson. Once officers arrived on the scene, they found three individuals stabbed at three different locations in downtown Hudson.

All three victims were transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. One of the victims, a 26-year-old man, died from his injuries, said police.

According to police, witnesses have described multiple unknown suspects entering a Chrysler Town and Country minivan with Minnesota license plates.

Those suspects are still at large. The Hudson Police Department is investigating the incident and is being assisted by the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office. Police believe the incident is a targeted attack and that there is no risk to the general public.

"It was frightening,’ Ellen Schultz said. "I’m not sure I would want to be down here at night. I’ve always felt very safe in Hudson, so it’s a bit of a change in perception."

The identification of one of the victims will be released after proper notification of his family has been made.

Due to the active investigation, police asked the public to stay out of the area of 1st Street between Walnut and Locust, until noon or further notice.
