Wolves VP Sachin Gupta explains lack of activity at trade deadline

Wolves executive VP of operations Sachin Gupta, the final decision-maker in the front office, met with reporters on Friday morning. After numerous conversations with teams, Gupta did not make a trade ahead of Thursday afternoon’s trade deadline.

Gupta noted how the Wolves, currently in the 7th spot in the Western Conference at 29-26, have exceeded preseason expectations and how the chemistry is rock-solid. He explored adding a new player or two, but was also cognizant to not want to disrupt the good vibes that exist.

Gupta noted that he’ll have some financial flexibility in early March to add a player, if he chooses to. A number of veterans will hit the market between now and then, via being bought out by their current teams.

The Wolves return to action Friday night at Chicago.
