Summer camp means different things for different people. For Wolves rookies, it’s an opportunity to show the coaching staff their value before training camp opens in late September.
“I feel extremely comfortable. It’s what I’ve been working my whole life towards,” said Wolves rookie Wendell Moore Jr., the 26th pick in last month’s draft.

Moore Jr. expressed happiness about the soon-to-be acquisition of center Rudy Gobert — the trade with Utah can’t be officially processed until late Wednesday morning.
“I feel the organization has more faith in me with the addition of Rudy Gobert and KAT (Karl-Anthony Towns) in the paint. It just allows me to play free. If I’m on the wing, I just know for me I just need to defend and hit open shots,” Moore Jr said.
Despite all the players and first round picks the Wolves gave up to acquire Gobert, summer league coach Kevin Burleson sees a lot of good that can come from this big move.
“If you ever played this game, it’s great to have a guy who can change shots and hold the rim down. It’s going to be good defensively. The moves we’re making we’re going to have some height. It’s going to be tough for teams to score over the top of us. We’re trying to build a team for the playoffs, that’s what it’s all about,” said Burleson, a Wolves developmental coach during the season.
The Wolves will head to Las Vegas with their opening game Friday night.
