Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins was fined $15,000 Monday for criticizing the officials after their Game 4 loss Saturday at Target Center.

Wolves guard Patrick Beverley was asked a question Monday about making Memphis work on defense. His answer then turned a corner.

“I think referees are in a tough position as it is already,” Beverley said. “Coming from a young coach, that’s just something you don’t do (criticizing the officials). Me being in this league for a decade, that’s just something you don’t do. Especially during playoff time. So I was kinda a little bit confused about that.”
