The Timberwolves open training camp the last week of September with as much buzz as there’s ever been entering a season. This includes the Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell acquisition year and summer 2017 following the Jimmy Butler trade.
Our Darren ‘Doogie’ Wolfson sat down with coach Chris Finch this week to discuss his recent European trip, how he plans on using new center Rudy Gobert, Anthony Edwards’ ceiling, and more.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will play five exhibition games before the start of the regular season. The preseason schedule begins with a trip to Miami to play the Heat on Oct. 4 before three games against Los Angeles — vs. the Lakers in Las Vegas on Oct. 6, at the Clippers on Oct. 9 and at the Lakers on Oct. 12. The Wolves will do a lot of team bonding during those days in L.A.
Minnesota’s preseason schedule concludes with a game at Target Center against the Brooklyn Nets on Oct. 14.
The regular season opener is Oct. 19 at Target Center vs. Oklahoma City.
