Eden Prairie native William Sawalich, 16, recently signed a multi-year contract to join legendary Joe Gibbs Racing.
Our Joe Schmit caught up with Sawalich, via Zoom, to hear all about the accomplishments of the last couple years. We first featured Sawalich in 2020 when he was just 13-years-old.

Sawalich now lives in North Carolina, attending high school virtually. In a perfect world, he’ll be racing in the Cup Series when he’s 22-years-old.
For now, he’s set to compete in 20 races on the ARCA platform beginning with the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series West combination race at Phoenix Raceway on March 10. ARCA is a circuit below NASCAR.

Sawalich made a name for himself racing super late models, pro late models and late model stock cars around the country during the 2022 season. This after winning races in Minnesota at Elko Speedway.
