Wild sign 1st-round pick Jesper Wallstedt
The Minnesota Wild have officially signed one of last year’s first-round draft picks to an entry-level contract.
Monday, the organization announced that goaltender Jesper Wallstedt signed his three-year, entry-level deal that will start next season.
The 19-year-old went 11-9-2 with a 1.98 goals-against average (GAA) a .918 save percentage (SV%) and 3 shutouts in 22 games with Lulea HF in Sweden’s Elite League this season, leading the league in GAA.
Wallstedt also went 2-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and a .962 SV% with one shutout in two games for Sweden in the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship.
Minnesota chose him 20th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft.
