Wild hire former Canucks draft boss Judd Brackett

The Wild have hired Judd Brackett as their Director of Amateur Scouting. He’ll be their point man on all things NHL Draft and its draft-eligible prospects.

"We are excited to add Judd to this role and oversee our amateur scouting efforts," said Will GM Bill Guerin in a statement to the media.

Brackett, 43, joins Minnesota after spending the previous 12 seasons with the Vancouver Canucks. His contract expired recently. He was reportedly offered an extension during the season, but his role wasn’t defined. So he turned it down.

The native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, served as an Amateur Scout for the Canucks for seven seasons before he was named Director of Amateur Scouting August 2015.
