Wild coach Bruce Boudreau fired by GM Bill Guerin

The Minnesota Wild announced on Friday that head coach Bruce Boudreau has been relieved of his coaching duties by general manager Bill Guerin.
Boudreau was hired by the team in May 2016.

"I would like to thank Bruce for his hard work and commitment to the Minnesota Wild during his tenure with the organization and wish him and his family the best in the future," Guerin said in a statement.
Boudreau went 158-110-35 (.579) in three-plus seasons with the Wild and coached the Central Division at the 2017 NHL All-Star Game. He has compiled a record of 567-302-115 (.634) in 13 seasons as an NHL head coach.

Guerin said the club has named Dean Evason the interim head coach. Evason is in his second season with Minnesota after being named an assistant coach in June 2018.
