Wild claims Twin Cities native Rem Pitlick off waivers from Nashville

The Minnesota Wild claimed Plymouth native and former Gophers center Rem Pitlick off waivers from Nashville. At least for now, the center/left wing is expected to stick on the NHL roster. If the Wild wanted to send him to Iowa, he’d have to clear waivers.

Pitlick, 24, tallied two assists in 10 games with Nashville last season. He made his NHL debut with the Predators at Minnesota on March 25, 2019. He owns two assists in 11 career NHL games. Pitlick was selected by Nashville in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft.

Pitlick played three seasons for the Gophers and led the ‘U’ in scoring in 2018-19 with 45 points in 38 games.

Rem’s younger brother, Rhett, is a current Gopher, and their dad, Lance, played for the Gophers and in the NHL with Ottawa and Florida.
