Whalen to miss Eastern Illinois game with illness

The University of Minnesota women’s basketball team will be without head coach Lindsay Whalen for Thursday’s game.

Wednesday, the program announced that Whalen will miss the game against Eastern Illinois due to an illness.

Whalen is recovering at home and will return when she’s medically cleared, the program said, although no timeline was provided.

In her absence, Shimmy Gray-Miller will serve as the Gophers’ acting head coach.
