Vikings waive Hand, Beyer, place 2 on PUP list

The Minnesota Vikings made four roster moves Tuesday to reach the league-mandated 80-player limit.

The team waived cornerback Harrison Hand and tight end Shaun Beyer and placed linebacker Ryan Connelly and wide receiver Blake Proehl on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Connelly and Proehl have been rehabbing from injuries they suffered last year.

Hand was a fifth-round draft pick in 2020 and made 23 appearances across the past two seasons. Beyer was signed in July.

Minnesota closes out the preseason at 8 p.m. Saturday in Denver.

Then, next Tuesday, all teams will have to cut their rosters from 80 to the regular-season maximum of 53 players. Each team will be allowed to sign up to 16 practice squad players starting on Aug. 31.

The Vikings open the regular season at home on Sept. 11 against Green Bay.
