Vikings to sign ex-Minnesota State Mankato offensive lineman
The Minnesota Vikings have added an offensive lineman who has some familiarity with the state.
The team announced Friday that it has agreed to terms with guard Chris Reed, who played collegiately at Minnesota State Mankato.
Reed has spent last season with the Indianapolis Colts, starting six of the 14 games he played in. As an undrafted rookie, he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars and played in 25 games across the 2016-2018 seasons. He’s also had stops in Miami and Carolina, totaling 29 starts in 61 games across his career.
The 29-year-old will reunite with former Minnesota State teammate Adam Thielen.
Reed is the third offensive lineman signed by the Vikings during free agency, joining Jesse Davis and Austin Schlottmann, and figures to compete for the starting right guard spot.
