Vikings rookie defensive tackle James Lynch has been living in the Twin Cities for a few weeks, awaiting his first training camp.

We caught up with Lynch, who looks forward to finally getting back onto the field. With no rookie minicamp, OTAs, or a regular minicamp, it’s been an atypical offseason for every rookie.

Lynch was selected by the Vikings with the 130th overall pick in Round 4 of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Lynch was a freshman All-American, a two-time All-Big 12 first-team selection and the 2019 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year for Baylor.

In November 2019, he became the school’s all-time sack leader. Lynch’s 13.5 sacks in 2019 also broke the program’s record for most sacks in a single season.

Lynch noted that three-technique is his best position along the D-Line.
