Cook still has not received a contract extension heading into the season opener against the Green Bay Packers. However, he made it clear that he is ready to play this Sunday without the extension. Cook is entering the final year of his contract.
Cook also spoke about leading the running back group, his pass-catching ability, and what that does to the Vikings passing game, and if not having a long-term deal disappoints him.
Cook has seen fellow running backs Derrick Henry (Tenn.) and Joe Mixon (Cincy) recently sign extensions, with Alvin Kamara (New Orleans) reportedly close to doing so.
