Vikings QB Kirk Cousins and head coach Mike Zimmer met with reporters on Wednesday. One topic thrown Cousins’ way was the meeting the team had earlier this week with Dr. Michael Osterholm, a top infectious disease expert.

Cousins said, "It was a great meeting, it was informative. And it was what it was."

The Vikings quarterback was forced to quarantine for five days earlier this month because he was a close contact with Kellen Mond, who tested positive for the virus. If he had been vaccinated, he wouldn’t have been required to quarantine, per NFL rules.

The Vikings reportedly have the lowest Covid vaccination rate in the league.

Cousins, who will play some in Friday’s preseason finale at Kansas City, also touched on his recent chat with new DE Everson Griffen. In January, Griffen called Cousins "a**" in a tweet and also claimed that Zimmer didn’t want to sign Cousins in 2018. Griffen deleted the thread of tweets and tweeted an apology.

Zimmer talked about playing starters on Friday and the job Adam, his son, a co-defensive coordinator, did last weekend calling some of the defensive plays.
