Vikings place Patrick Peterson on IR; Zimmer says injury ‘not season-ending’

On Monday, the Minnesota Vikings placed cornerback Patrick Peterson on Injured Reserve after he left Sunday’s game late with a hamstring injury against the Carolina Panthers.
The move will force the team’s top cornerback to miss at least three games. Head coach Mike Zimmer said during a presser with reporters that he "doesn’t believe it’s a season-ending injury."
Peterson was helped from the field late in the fourth quarter after defending a deep pass down the Panthers sideline intended for DJ Moore that fell incomplete. The eight-time Pro Bowler has recorded a couple of passes defended in six starts this season.
Likely to fill his spot on defense will be the duo of Bashaud Breeland and Cameron Dantzler.
In a corresponding move, the Vikings signed tackle Blake Brandel from the practice squad to the active roster.
