Vikings center Garrett Bradbury is from North Carolina and he’s a huge Twins fan. Twins pitcher Bailey Ober is also from North Carolina and he loves the Vikings. Seems strange, but there’s a great back story.
Bradbury and Ober were high school baseball teammates at Charlotte Christian School. In fact, Bradbury was oftentimes Ober’s catcher. They played together for two years.
Our Darren ‘Doogie’ Wolfson spoke with Bradbury and Ober to learn all about their bond.

Bradbury said that Ober grew up about an hour from their school, so oftentimes spent the night at their teammate’s house to save from having to make a long commute each morning. That teammate was current Kansas City Royals pitcher Jackson Kowar. Kowar’s sister is now married to Bradbury.
While Ober was on a recent road trip with the Twins, his wife and kids went to the Bradbury’s house for dinner. Bradbury is constantly watching how Ober is doing, and Ober does the same each Sunday.
Ober, a long-shot being a 12th round draft pick in 2017, made his major league debut in May, with Bradbury and his wife in attendance at Target Field.
