Vikings 2020 first round pick cornerback Jeff Gladney tragically died in May after a car crash in Dallas. He played in 16 games in 2020 but was released before the 2021 season, when he was charged with assaulting a woman.
Gladney was found not guilty in Dallas County, Texas, in March and was subsequently signed by the Arizona Cardinals.
A number of Vikings were with close with Gladney, including CBs Cam Dantzler Sr. and Kris Boyd, WR Jalen Reagor, and DL Ross Blacklock. The latter two were teammates with Gladney at Texas Christian University.
We spoke with those closest to Gladney, and put together the above story. Accompanying the story is a full conversation with Boyd. He first met Gladney in high school — they grew up near each other. Boyd attended the funeral.

Gladney’s girlfriend, Andrea Mercedes Palacios, also was killed in the crash.
Gladney leaves behind his mom, dad, three older siblings, and a 1-year-old son.
