The Vikings are fresh of a bye week break, and will host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday with a mentality of not slowing down any time soon with five wins in their first six games.

Justin Jefferson continues to be one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. He has exceeded over 100 yards receiving in each of the last three games. Now, he’s up against a Arizona defense that allows over 220 passing yards a game.

“We’re definitely confident going into this game. I mean with the success we’ve had and not even playing our best ball yet,” Jefferson said to the media on Thursday. “It’s what we are excited about. This season is long, just to be 5-1 going into the bye, getting that rest in before the second half of the season is definitely a good position to be in.”

With a 5-1 record, coming off a bye week, the Vikings look at the rest of their season as the second half of the season, but they know they can’t take their foot off the pedal now.

“In meetings we say, hey guys we can’t relax. We have to focus on the details. We have to be that zero-zero mentality,” said Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen. “Zero wins, zero losses mentality, like this is the first game of the season. It’s the most important game.”

The Vikings defense is 10th in the NFL in yards per game allowed.

“We positioned ourselves pretty well and a lot of guys may get comfortable. A lot of guys maybe like we’ve arrived, we made it,” said cornerback Patrick Peterson. “But that the end of the day this is now the start to build up your season for that playoff run. Winning games on the road, understanding like the said the second half of the season is when the real season really starts.”

The Vikings and Cardinals are scheduled to kick off on Sunday at noon at U.S. Bank Stadium.
