Sunday will be O’Connell’s first official game as an NFL head coach. He will serve as the Vikings’ play-caller.
“I’d be lying to you if I said I wasn’t going to be a little extra excited,” O’Connell said. “It is my first game as a head coach.”
The injury report for the Vikings Wednesday contained just one name: DL Jonathan Bullard (biceps) was limited. In other words, TE Irv Smith Jr. (thumb) was a full participant. He told KSTP on Monday that he’s a lock to play.
The Packers injury report today had WR Allen Lazard (ankle) as not practicing and T David Bakhtiari (knee), G Elgton Jenkins (pectoral, knee), S Darnell Savage (hamstring) and TE Robert Tonyan (knee) as limited.
